Migrant Worker Harvesting Crops

Vivid Farm Paintings by Mark Freear

Art can be both beautiful and informational. For example, I am an agricultural artist based in San Luis Obispo, California, who creates farm paintings that showcase migrant farm workers. You can find my art in the Freear Gallery, and my paintings have also been popular with various agricultural programs and departments within the entire United States.

Using acrylic paint and canvas, I document the lives of migrant farmers, showing people a world that they might not otherwise get to see. I invite you to take a look at the interesting world of agriculture and its workers through my art.

About Mark Freear

I have always been interested in art, and I have been an artist for at least 50 years. I was about 13 years old when I learned that I wanted to paint for a living, and that is also when I was paid for my first painting. At that moment, I realized the power of painting. It was a great lesson for me.

My interest in art led me to study it in college. I graduated in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Art and Design from California Poly Technical University. Professionally, I have taught high school art classes and an adult art class in addition to classes for private groups and students at the San Luis Obispo Art Center.

Thank you for your interest. We look forward to hearing from you soon.
